Please Mr. Obama Listen to Reason!

Translation: Françoise APPY
Please Mr. Obama, listen to Reason!
Siegfried Engelmann
Speech 2011 State of the Union of Obama stressed the need to reform school, reward good teachers, and ward off evil feeding high ambitions for students. According to the projections of Obama, the most Much of the workforce now will require a university degree. Like other reforms, restructuring of the School is based on various contributions - parents, teachers, educational staff - and the expected outcome is a positive change.
Since everyone must participate in this reform effort, here's my contribution:
Please, give us a great failure in school and let us show you what you need to change this school, and significantly improve the performance of teachers and students. Then when we changed this school let us train people so that we can enable districts in check (which represents virtually all districts) to know what to do.
In consideration of this request, please start by observing that we have done this several times, but the responses of policymakers districts, instead of learning from our demonstrations, considered that these Schools were an insult to the terms of their political district. The fact relevant to the current reform is that those driving schools do not know how to be successful. They have never known; they have never trained others to be, and they do not understand the technical background nor a school reform strategies that fail. The task is to ask someone who can not drive, operate a 38 tonne.
Although educational policy makers know how to pass the failing schools, they remain adamant about using the same ineffective strategies, again and again. Albert Einstein believed that dementia leads to the same thing endlessly while expecting different results, in which case the Public education has lost reason.
Rather than spending billions to develop further variations on how to fail, or to ask the actors of the educational reform of roll up their sleeves, why not give us a school and observe the failure process we use to change things? We can show you all the details, highlight all the pitfalls and show why the strategies we use to train teachers and students work. This will be an example to accomplish this reform, never content simply to talk. If you are actively involved in the findings, you will have a serious educational experience of learning by doing.
How much would it cost?
What would you say if I could vouch for, if unsuccessful after two years, payment of a sum of $ 100 000 in the district concerned, if the force produced by properly it had failed? Why might you not to take the bet? Even if we fail, student performance is not worse than it would have been without our intervention.
My purpose in writing this call is not to explain specific strategies or engage in a rhetorical debate about why they work, but essentially the point that we could reform any wholly Non-performing school if we were allowed to establish a timetable, teacher training and educational programs needed for this reform. Unless a teaching method works with struggling students, general strategies unrecognized do not allow efforts to succeed, whatever the degree of attendance of teachers, the school day, the efforts of parental involvement.
In summary, our score contains hundreds of schools successfully reformed and remained exemplary throughout the period of use of the program. Your score contains some rare and precious schools, and why almost no one foresaw an improvement.
So what are the rational reasons for you not help us in our determination to show you, in technical details, how to reform an inefficient school?
