How To Solve For Annuity Rate

Integrate the use of TBI in my teaching

A major criticism of the BIT is that it reinforces the traditional model of education Lecture. The real question is: How do the BIT a learning tool with which students are active? We believe that the TBI may be, to some extent, a learning tool if used as the model of explicit teaching.

Study Day

Issues - by Daniel Roy, responsible Day

The first issue of this Day is to be a magnet for the greatest number, by showcasing the best of our work. The Institute for Children, expected by many of us since the announcement by Jacques-Alain Miller such a prospect in December 2009 and re-discussed at various days of networks, will take consistency of this movement which Day March 19 is one of the facets.

The second issue can be read on our posters and newsletters: Day is under the auspices Popular University-Jacques Lacan, created by Jacques-Alain Miller in November 2009 and is organized with the CERED , ICES and RI3. We advance not alone: each network is taught the other two, firstly, and secondly, the product of these meetings is to enroll in another place and with a different address. The prospect of a new publication already is indicated as a second time that accompanies this "first".

The third issue is clinical: what place fear in the child's clinical neurotic in that of the psychotic child? What is indicated in its diffraction symptomatic between "school phobia", "panic attack", "stress" classic phobias and nightmares? Does it break or limit? Like any clinical issue in the field oriented by psychoanalysis, this is an issue that is beyond the clinic and who questions the place of children and adolescents in the social bond. At this point emerges the need for open and fruitful that we need to weave other speech frames that surrounds childhood and welcome to the XXI century e .

"What is most paper tiger that phobia? Phobia of a child is very often the tigers that are in his album, tigers actually paper. (...) How shrivel thieves? by Monique Amirault

Snowy, a boy of my surroundings, is an avid reader. There is appeasement which agitates and looks forward to the release of each album in a series entitled "How to shrink ...." 1. He knows them in detail, explores carefully the pictures.
Milou 5 years. He knows that the author of this series is a close friend and he called me one day in the emergency begging me to ask my friend if she would write a new album, entitled How shrivel thieves. Indeed, he had a nightmare last night: a thief break into his room. I convey his request and the writer, who is an excellent idea, knowing how this theme is common in children's fears, liaises with Snowy: she will write and propose to the editor this new album. Does he have to give him ideas on this?
Yes, of course, Snowy is no shortage of ideas, and her mother is paying to play, forward. The author is inspired; How shrivel thieves takes shape and is available from the publisher. Refusal. It is a theme of bad taste in the contemporary world where there is fear of child abduction. Politically incorrect. It is fashionable to be afraid of spiders, witches, vampires, ghosts, pirates and dinosaurs, but not thieves.
Deception of the child, who wants to indulge one of the ideas he had to shrink the robbers fill his big belly piggy false chocolate coins, so the thief will be fooled, manga, and have a stomach ache if he will not return.
must say that Disquiet Snowy has increased since the recent pregnancy of her mother and the arrival of a baby brother. Classical although jealousy is said and it reassures Snowy, he knows although it still loves. But as early Piggle, the child treated by Winnicott, the consolations do not calm the child, anger is growing.
Yet, everything has been done so it does not feel excluded. Snowy has been associated closely with the progression pregnancy. The ear on the belly of his mother, he could hear the mysterious signs of life that his parents have called and he was involved in handling the baby in the womb. Snowy is a beloved child. He says, he speaks.
But it is not enough to talk to children, yet do we mean what they say.
off the cuff, Snowy told me one day: "You know me, later I would like to PACS. Ever new surprise of the word child.
- Why? - "Because I want to have children." What, his sister, 3 years his senior, added: "I have children but I'll get them into care."
The impossible to symbolize the desire that governs the birth of a speaking being, proximity to noxious enjoyment housed in the belly of the mother and the real game, the difficulty of extracting them where good intentions of parents in contemporary fold the contrary, lead the child to invent his symptomatic response, costly to conceal this reality.
the belly of the piggy bank the mystery of the womb, being circulated which is nothing other than the child himself delivered to the voracity of the enjoyment of the Other.
But the contemporary master who does not want the singularities of the unconscious struggle with the impossible, blew an answer: their anger is often a sign of maturity and it comes to subject of Snowy tests to verify this hypothesis.
Psychoanalysts must do everything so that the Institute for the child to become a powerful weapon that is authoritative and opposes what shrivels children. And only the Lacanian psychoanalytic orientation in its simplicity, could accompany the way Snowy on its way to shrink the thieves and build his own fiction.

Leaning, leasing - by Isabelle Pontecaille

The Night of the Hunter C. Laughton is in line with tales blacks whose children are both heroes and victims. The film tension Fears of John and Pearl and those whose gaze of the viewer is confused with that of the little boy. Kinds of Hansel and Gretel, children, bearers of a secret fleeing a Bluebeard who killed their mother to take refuge with a good fairy.
The film begins in the innocence of a game of hide and seek, but the reference to curse the M Fritz Lang announces the next scene and the discovery of a woman's body, first confrontation with death. The killer, the Preacher Powell is a fanatic whose sexuality is expressed by a hatred of women as the embodiment of evil. "There are too many, you can not kill them all. "Released from prison, he goes in search of hidden money to a cellmate, Robin Hood of the crisis of 29, which is none other than the children's father. Condemned to silence the secret of that money hidden in the belly of the doll Pearl location visible to all - one can think here of the purloined letter - the children will escape the man who became a stepfather in a long descent the river by moonlight, in the foreground with animals out of Alice in Wonderland
Two scenes filmed exactly the same angle frame the plot: the arrest of the father who entrusted the money and the secret to his son, and that of the murderer. The acting is the same. John saw this at the end of the film the initial trauma has been for him the grounding of his father when he attended, impotent. He teaches at the second stage that Powell killed his mother. The repetition has caused him some confusion of the two father figures and screams, "Enough is enough, well, rebuke him, I am not daddy is too!" then hit the preacher of the doll which escape tickets before passing out, freeing themselves of debt and father.
These fears caused by love and hatred of these two male figures, one taking the trouble to look good and the other the well to do evil, mark the beginning and end of a course that mark other fears. Duality good / evil in some letters written on the hands of Powell love / hate , through all the sequences.
games of harsh lighting in studio sets where light and shadow clash part of this atmosphere, just as the knife that opens and closes the pastor in the presence women within the scope of impulses that agitate. When the boy sees him for the first time through the window of the preacher's shadow gradually covered hers. "Only a man" he said, but the viewer is substituted for that of Pearl scared. Then, as in all sequences where the danger is present, a musical theme - "Leaning, leasing / Safe and Secure from all alarms / Leaning, leasing / Leaning On The Everlasting Arms" linked to its appearance precedes or follows. Look at the shadow and voice Powell sings his song inspires fear. Are built and the scene of departure and where children, revealing the personality of their stepfather, took refuge in a cellar, the protector becomes the place of greatest danger.
When the leak in the boat on the river where their dead mother is their guardian angel, children stop at a barn, the voice of Powell again warned viewers of his arrival, confirming its presence as disturbing in the night of scenes finales.De Similarly, the montage of the arrival of a Train announcement implied by the elliptical construction hazards of the pastor and provokes the viewer, moments before the encounter with the children, a fear confirmed in their eyes.

Please Mr. Obama Listen to Reason!

Translation: Françoise APPY
Please Mr. Obama, listen to Reason!
Siegfried Engelmann
Speech 2011 State of the Union of Obama stressed the need to reform school, reward good teachers, and ward off evil feeding high ambitions for students. According to the projections of Obama, the most Much of the workforce now will require a university degree. Like other reforms, restructuring of the School is based on various contributions - parents, teachers, educational staff - and the expected outcome is a positive change.
Since everyone must participate in this reform effort, here's my contribution:
Please, give us a great failure in school and let us show you what you need to change this school, and significantly improve the performance of teachers and students. Then when we changed this school let us train people so that we can enable districts in check (which represents virtually all districts) to know what to do.
In consideration of this request, please start by observing that we have done this several times, but the responses of policymakers districts, instead of learning from our demonstrations, considered that these Schools were an insult to the terms of their political district. The fact relevant to the current reform is that those driving schools do not know how to be successful. They have never known; they have never trained others to be, and they do not understand the technical background nor a school reform strategies that fail. The task is to ask someone who can not drive, operate a 38 tonne.
Although educational policy makers know how to pass the failing schools, they remain adamant about using the same ineffective strategies, again and again. Albert Einstein believed that dementia leads to the same thing endlessly while expecting different results, in which case the Public education has lost reason.
Rather than spending billions to develop further variations on how to fail, or to ask the actors of the educational reform of roll up their sleeves, why not give us a school and observe the failure process we use to change things? We can show you all the details, highlight all the pitfalls and show why the strategies we use to train teachers and students work. This will be an example to accomplish this reform, never content simply to talk. If you are actively involved in the findings, you will have a serious educational experience of learning by doing.
How much would it cost?
What would you say if I could vouch for, if unsuccessful after two years, payment of a sum of $ 100 000 in the district concerned, if the force produced by properly it had failed? Why might you not to take the bet? Even if we fail, student performance is not worse than it would have been without our intervention.
My purpose in writing this call is not to explain specific strategies or engage in a rhetorical debate about why they work, but essentially the point that we could reform any wholly Non-performing school if we were allowed to establish a timetable, teacher training and educational programs needed for this reform. Unless a teaching method works with struggling students, general strategies unrecognized do not allow efforts to succeed, whatever the degree of attendance of teachers, the school day, the efforts of parental involvement.
In summary, our score contains hundreds of schools successfully reformed and remained exemplary throughout the period of use of the program. Your score contains some rare and precious schools, and why almost no one foresaw an improvement.
So what are the rational reasons for you not help us in our determination to show you, in technical details, how to reform an inefficient school?

Petals On awakening

Awakening is not different from what is here and now.
There is nothing more and nothing less.

awaken to the true self is easy.
It only becomes difficult if you think it is.

Your beliefs about different reality to reach

are the only obstacles that prevent you realize that YOU,
whatever you experience.

Your true nature is that which perceives,
what is perceived.
However, there is no separation.

Instead of directing consciousness
outwards or Inside
turn it to itself and discover that you are
Consciousness itself.

You are aware of being a body, a self, a vibration or a soul.
You are not the body, the self or soul vibration
since you are aware of them.
You are aware of them.
You are consciousness.
Consciousness.

Consciousness is unlimited and not separated from that which is.

Consciousness is the substance
in the form of all forms.

Consciousness is Everything.

Consciousness IS.

Consciousness is who you ARE.

You do not form and all forms
are made of you, move you.

You are not "the one" who is experiencing the boundless space or transparent
Clear Conscience. You are
Consciousness in which "it" is experienced.

Look around you. Everything is everything ...
bathed in the Presence.
You are the Presence.

The Presence is who you are and
Presence is silent.

You are not the one who asks about it.
You are not the one who thinks.

It does there is only one Presence and
is who you are.

about me? Your role is played without identification. Everything stays the same
and more peaceful. "

Principles of instruction

Educational Practices Series, 21

Publ: 2010, 31 p.

This booklet is about the most effective methods of teaching and presents ten principles based on research in teaching. These principles are derived from three sources: (a) research on how the brain acquires and uses new information, (b) research on classroom practices of teachers whose students show the strongest growth, and (c) Results Study on strategies for student learning. Suggestions for classroom practice are also included.

Although this publication is based on research conducted primarily in economically advanced countries, it focuses on aspects of learning and teaching of languages that are universal. Therefore, practices proposed here may be applied throughout the world in general.

This booklet Is About The Most Effective Methods of teaching. It has been prepared for inclusion in the Educational Practices Series developed by the International Academy of Education and distributed by the International Bureau of Education and the Academy. As part of its mission, the Academy provides timely syntheses of research on educational topics of international importance. This booklet is the twenty-first in the series on educational practices that generally improve learning.

The booklet author Barak Rosenshine was educated in the schools of Chicago. He received a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Chicago and then taught United States History in the Chicago Public Schools Later, he earned and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. He has long been on the faculty of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which is well known for attracting graduate students from economically developing countries. Many of these students studied with Professor Rosenshine. Rosenshine’s work on teaching has been honored by the American Educational Research Association and the American Federation of Teachers.

The officers of the International Academy of Education are aware that this booklet is based on research carried out primarily in economically advanced countries. The booklet, however, focuses on aspects of language learning and instruction that are universal. The practices presented here are likely to be generally applicable throughout the world. Indeed, they might be especially useful in countries that are currently less developed economically. Even so, the principles should be assessed with reference to local conditions, and adapted accordingly. In any educational setting or cultural context, suggestions or guidelines for practice require sensitive and sensible application, and continuing evaluation.
