DIVINE MERCY RETIREMENT VILNIUS

It was in Vilnius that celebrated the first feast of mercy in 1935. Table of merciful Jesus directed by the painter Kazimirowski was exhibited for the occasion at the shrine of Mary Mother of Mercy (Ostra Brama). This town was therefore the starting point of the spread of the devotion of Mercy God asked by Jesus to St. Faustina.

From April 13 to 17, I was able to participate in celebrations of mercy who live throughout the week in the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy.

On Easter Monday evening, a light path connecting the Shrine of Mary, Mother of Mercy Shrine of Divine Mercy. Each station commemorates the Resurrection of Christ and the Alleluia are taken by the pilgrims. Thus began the festivities of Mercy which will take place throughout the week.

The Sanctuary of Mercy is not very big and there are 5 years by the will of the Cardinal Archbishop Baskir who wished to offer a prayer specifically dedicated to Mercy in this city significant. Here heaven is opened on the earth! Table of Jesus merciful throne in the choir. Profound peace reigns in this place ...
Every day, masses and conferences follow one another, interspersed with times of worship. The Hour of Mercy is celebrated and the Chaplet of Mercy is prayed before every Eucharist. The fervor of the Lithuanian people I was deeply impressed! The church is always crowded. And there are many who follow the Mass outside in the street through loudspeakers.

And there, in this mecca of spirituality, I had the grace to give four lectures at the invitation of the Rector!
During his visit to Vilnius in 1993, John Paul II named the city, the City of Mercy and to urge its people to be apostles of mercy. Reminding them these words, I invited them with alacrity to pray for the world and France ...
Cardinal Baskir wanted me to come meet him at the palace. Over an hour of sharing the dissemination of mercy in Lithuania, France and the world ...
Other worthwhile waiting for me at meetings this week: the group of retirees Yolanta accompanied by a prayer group led by Lina ...

Finally, an emotional visit: the house where St. Faustina lived and where she received from Christ the Chaplet of Mercy! At the foot of his relics, we prayed the Hour of Mercy.

Some streets around the Shrine of Divine Mercy, where the churches follow one another!
